Behind the Pegs: Surveying a Complex Construction Set-Out with Cameron.

Construction set-out is one of the most critical stages of any project. Before structures rise out of the ground, surveyors ensure everything is positioned exactly where it needs to be — translating design plans into precise points on site for contractors to build from.

On one of our current projects, the scale and complexity of the development has made the surveying component particularly important. With a large footprint and multiple elements progressing at once, accurate set-out and clear coordination with the construction team are essential to keeping everything aligned and moving forward.

For our survey team, it’s been a rewarding challenge.

As Surveyor Cameron Milner explains:

“It’s basically a complex job from a survey perspective, particularly because of the size and scope of the project. Our involvement is very critical and the client has been very happy with the work our team has done. Overall it’s just an awesome and challenging project to be a part of.”

Projects like this highlight the value of experienced surveyors on the ground. Careful planning, precise measurements, and strong communication with contractors all play a role in ensuring construction progresses smoothly.

As Cameron says, it’s the kind of work our team enjoys most — challenging projects where good surveying makes a real difference on site.
