PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Senior Civil Engineer leads engineering design and implementation for land development projects to support the purpose and mission of McKenzie & Co ‘to develop great places and people’. You will do this whilst working collaboratively to provide excellent engineering design for projects undertaken by McKenzie & Co.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the engineering design and implementation for our key land development projects. You will be involved with our more complex projects, ensuring technical quality and completion on schedule and within budget, as well as coordinating different multi-disciplinary teams involved. You will use your expert relationship management skills to maintain excellent working relationships with clients, building trust with a flexible and professional approach at all times.

The Construction Site Engineer role supports the Construction Manager and project lead/engineer with the day-to-day contract and construction needs of projects and reinforces the purpose and mission of McKenzie & Co ‘to develop great places and people’. You will do this whilst working collaboratively to provide excellent engineering services for projects undertaken by McKenzie & Co.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re on the hunt for a Construction Site Engineer to assist with managing and coordinating the contract and construction needs of our major projects. We need someone who can juggle multiple balls at once, liaising with the internal team (design engineers and surveyors) as well external clients, contractors and sub-contractors, potentially across a number of different sites at any given time. Your expert project management skills will ensure that projects run on time and to budget and that all project documentation such as resource consents, schedules and contracts is completed to a high standard. It goes without saying that to make a success of the above, your relationship building skills will be outstanding, effectively managing the expectations of all internal and external stakeholders.

We’re seeking a talented individual who will bring their expert skills to the fore, undertaking land transfer, engineering and cadastral surveying work whilst facilitating projects from initiation through to title creation. Your excellent relationship management skills are second to none and you will use your communication skills to build trust with clients, Council and lawyers amongst others. You will participate in engineering design and construction, taking masterplans through to detailed design, whilst working closely with other team members to lead, coach and mentor them. Your networking skills will identify new business opportunities for McKenzie & Co. and you will drive for efficiencies within the business with your advanced business development expertise.

We are a young and vibrant organisation, and we want to develop the skillset of new Surveyors, whilst giving you exposure to key projects and clients. Working with us will enable you to build upon your basic cadastral and engineering surveying knowledge base, facilitating project completion alongside the project manager, and working closely with clients to ensure they are satisfied at all stages of the project timeline. We’re looking for a current Surveying student who wants to intern over the summer period with a professional but fun organisation. We are a young and vibrant company, and we want to develop the skillset of new Surveyors, by giving you exposure to real life Surveying situations. Working with the more senior Surveyors, you will assist with preparation tasks as well as operating out in the field and undertaking duties that will give you an introduction to liaising with sub-consultants and clients.
