The Senior Surveyor role leads cadastral work and implementation for land development projects to support McKenzie & Co.’s mission to develop great places and people.

They will do this whilst working collaboratively to provide excellent surveying services for projects undertaken by McKenzie & Co.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Land transfer surveys

  • Provide Land Transfer advice in the preparation of the scheme plans
  • Identify risks for client and give alternative options/recommendations
  • Peer review scheme plans
  • Provide direction for LT surveys for brownfields and greenfield developments
  • Undertake land transfer surveys and prepare 223 plans for Councils and subsequent lodgment with landonline.

Engineering surveying

  • Assist with the data collection for initial topographical surveys
  • Prepare survey control for the development
  • Co-ordinate the data collection and preparation of asbuilts for compliance
  • Support land development project through the provision of timely survey delivery.

Cadastral surveying

  • Follow appropriate cadastral survey practices
  • Review scheme plans for cadastral correctness
  • Identify potential cadastral legal issues, liaising appropriately with lawyers
  • Conduct and certifying cadastral (land title) surveys and boundary retracements
  • Experience with 12d / Civil 3d, e-Survey, and Landonline
  • Prepare Resource Consent applications.

Engineering design/construction

  • Take masterplan through to detailed design
  • Peer review detailed design
  • Prepare schedules and tenders for civil contract procurement
  • Undertake contract observation, administration, and certification of contract claims.

The Role

We have an exciting permanent opportunity, based at either the CBD or Manukau offices, for a Construction Surveyor to assist our Senior Surveyors to provide services for clients mainly in the residential and commercial space but also the Civils and Infrastructure.

You will be providing a wide range of surveying services to both external and internal engineers, project managers and team leads. Independently performing setting out surveys, topographical surveys, monitoring and “as-builts”.

Collaborating with our Survey team you will be developing and improving sound surveying systems & processes to add value to our existing and future clients.

There is also the opportunity to become involved in scanning if desired.

About You

You will have a BSurv or National Diploma of Surveying qualification and have 3+ years construction surveying experience on site, in particular experience with both residential and commercial building set-out.

You will have experience undertaking survey field work and can demonstrate your knowledge of CAD and 12d software which would be desirable but not essential.

You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail demonstrating good survey practice.
