With offices in Auckland, Warkworth, Taupo, Tauranga, Rotorua and Queenstown, you’ll be part of an 80+ strong team of expert surveyors, civil engineers, project managers and development advisors.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Construction & Design Engineer role supports the Senior Engineers, Construction Team and Project Leads with the day-to-day design, contract and construction needs of projects and reinforces the purpose and mission of McKenzie & Co. ‘to develop great places and people’. You will do this whilst working collaboratively to provide excellent engineering services for projects undertaken by McKenzie & Co.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking an experienced Construction & Design Engineer to liaise with our internal team and external stakeholders to ensure projects run on time and to schedule. You will leverage your strong land development and subdivision background to implement, coordinate and manage all relevant project elements including schedules, contract documentation and resource consents amongst others. Your expert relationship building skills will ensure that internal company and external client/subcontractor stakeholder expectations are well managed via proactive communication and problem solving. You will also carry out civil engineering design and preparation of drawings.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • May / may not be a registered engineering professional.
  • Bachelor of Engineering or NZCE.
  • Land development and subdivision design experience.
  • 5-7 years civil engineering industry experience.
  • Strong 12d, BricsCAD skills/experience.
  • Demonstrated competency using MS Project, Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable working in structured and unstructured project environments.
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Good relationship building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Organised and proactive.
  • A genuine ‘can do’ attitude.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Survey Technician role supports Surveyors and Project Leads with the day to day survey needs of projects. They perform their role in accordance with McKenzie & Co, purpose and missing being ‘to develop great places and people’. You will do this whilst working collaboratively to provide excellent surveying services for projects undertaken by McKenzie & Co.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years PQE
  • BSurv or National Diploma of Surveying
  • 12d and AutoCAD
  • Can demonstrate “good survey practice”
  • Can work autonomously and manage your own workload with ease, can communicate directly with clients and project leads within the company
  • Can comfortably manage survey assistants, and organise day-today-tasks (equipment, staffing etc.) efficiently
  • Comfortable with both flexibility and structure
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Highly planful and organised
  • ‘Can do’ attitude
